Sustainability: The Path to a Greener Future

AKPESSC’23 aims to educate students about the necessity of reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainability. It tackles these issues by promoting sustainability and offering talks/workshops on circular economy, sustainable cities, carbon offsetting, renewable energy modeling, carbon capture, microgrids, and more. The event fosters a proactive mindset, increasing awareness among students and professionals. It emphasizes emerging sustainable technologies and their role in positive environmental change, helping participants better understand the current state of the environment and inspiring action to counter carbon emissions and climate change impacts.

What's the hype for?

The All Kerala Power & Energy Society Student Congress (AKPESSC) is set to take place at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam (RIT Kottayam) from October 27th to October 29th, 2023. This event, organized by the IEEE PES Kerala Chapter in association with the PES Student Branch Chapter of RIT Kottayam, will gather Power and Energy Society volunteers from various Student Branches across Kerala. The congress aims to facilitate technological innovation, encourage the exchange of new ideas, and provide a platform for showcasing technical advancements. Attendees will also have the opportunity to reflect on their journey as volunteers and engage in meaningful discussions to inspire creative thinking.

This time the event is hosted by IEEE SB RIT

Founded in 1991, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, named after the late Prime Minister of India Sri Rajiv Gandhi, is one of pioneer institutions with vast infrastructure which aims at providing high quality education to students from all over Kerala. With more than 250 members, the IEEE student branch chapter of RIT is one of the most vibrant and largest student branch chapters of the state. The campus provides the ideal environment for a perfect blend in the areas of academia, culture and sports. Through the years, RIT has continued to provide a positive aura for the students to develop their potentials and to excel in all walks of life.
